Holiday Vouchers

Happy holidays in RiminiThe Ministry of Tourism has organised an initiative to support all those who would like to go on holiday but cannot afford to, by setting up the BVI, a non-profit association comprising Confturismo, Federturismo, Assoturismo and other social tourism networks. The BVI has set itself various objectives:

– to promote development in the Italian tourism sector

– to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy tourism

– to encourage local authorities to develop a policy to promote tourism

– to improve and expand the work of the tourism sector.

The government has invested nearly 5 million euros in this project. These are ‘vouchers’ worth 5.00 euros and 20.00 euros, which can be spent in Italy and abroad; they must be applied for from the local council of the applicant’s place of residence and are valid until June 2010.

To apply for the ‘bonuses’, you must complete a form and provide a self-declaration regarding your income; only then can the calculation be made to determine the percentage of public funding to which each person is entitled.

This subsidy offered by the state will amount to no more than 45% of the total cost of the holiday; naturally, each person may only claim the subsidy once. Perhaps it would be helpful to give an example: if a family of four with a total income of less than €25,000 – as evidenced by their 2008 IRPEF tax return – may claim vouchers worth €1,250, whilst paying approximately €675.00. If not all the vouchers requested are used, it will be possible to apply for a refund.

The Romagna Riviera, led by Rimini, has also come forward with some of its finest hotels to become a partner in the ‘Buoni Vacanze Italia’ scheme; the vouchers can be used in the low season, but this ‘restriction’ does not prevent you from still enjoying a lovely holiday on the Romagna Riviera and in the many resorts where the whole summer is a holiday: Torre Pedrera, Viserbella, Viserba, Rivabella, San Giuliano, Bellariva, Marebello, Rivazzurra, Miramare, Rimini Mare, Rimini Marina Centro, Bellaria, Igea Marina, Cesenatico, Villamarina, Valverde, Gatteo Mare, San Mauro, Ravenna, Milano Marittima, Cervia, Misano Adriatico, Cattolica, Gabicce, Pesaro, Riccione, Marina di Ravenna, Marina Romea, Punta Marina, Lido Adriano, Lido di Dante, Lido Classe, Lido di Savio, Tagliata di Cervia, Pinarella di Cervia, RAVENNA AND THE RAVENNA BEACHES, San Marino.
