Fîra d'i Sett Dulür
La Fîra d'i Sett Dulür (Seven Sorrows Fair) is the oldest festival in the province of Ravennadating back to 17th century. Linked to the presence in the city of the Servite friars, celebrated the Our Lady of Seven Sorrows and was institutionalised by Innocent XI at 1688.
It takes place every year in the third week of Septemberanimating the city with events musical, cultural e gastronomic. The signature dish is the traditional nice and cot. The festival has a deep connection with local history, evolving from a religious celebration to a large popular festival.
History of the Fair
In 1798the festival was suspended by an edict of Napoleon Bonapartebut restored in the 1815 with the return of papal power. Initially, it was a religious procession and a questing. In 1861the municipality officially established the Brotherhood of the Seven Sorrowsby setting the party at third Sunday in Septemberevent, which was soon joined by craft fairs and of arts and crafts.
In 1871, the festival took the name of Cattle fair known as the Addolorata fairbased in Boarium Forum. In 1877event grew to such an extent that a special train from Ravenna and propose the berber horse race e fireworks.
After the war, the fair took its current name Fîra of Sett Dulur. Alongside carousels, cheque pullers and theatre performances, also survived until the 1980s the livestock exhibition. Even today, the fair attracts visitors from all over the provinceespecially for the Sunday evening and Monday fireworksincluding the pinwheel e the fires on the poles.
La cânta d'Ròss
A famous folk song in romagnolodedicated to the city and its celebration, accompanies the tradition:

International Folklore Festival
From 1988 to 2019the Gruppo Canterini Romagnoli 'Città di Russi' (City of Russi) organised the International Folklore Festivalwith guests from many different countries and traditions, contributing to cultural dialogue and the promotion of popular traditions.
Never-before-seen books
Until 2015, Russi hosted the original exhibition-competition 'Never-before-seen books"promoted by the association VAri Cervelli Associati (VACA). There were book works created with unusual materials o eccentric ideas, true examples of non-standard publishing art.
In 2000the exhibition was also presented at the New York Universitythen becoming itinerant and hosted in prestigious venues such as theItalian Cultural Institute of Paris, the Classense Library of Ravennathe Ferrara Museum of Illustration and the Circolo dei Lettori of Turin (2006).
In 2007 a Permanent Fund with the most significant works, preserved in Russi. After a suspension in 2016 for lack of funds, the exhibition was reproposed in 2019 in Ravenna.
