Rimini is operating at full accommodation capacity for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, with over 400 hotels open and almost fully booked.
The city is lit up and buzzing with a long list of events, including the Communion and Liberation gathering, the ‘Ginnastica in Festa’ festival and the national conference of the Renewal in the Holy Spirit, as well as Laura Pausini’s concert at the Rimini Stadium, which will take place on 8 and 9 December.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is very popular with independent travellers, who can enjoy a long three-day weekend. Among the visitors are the athletes taking part in ‘Ginnastica in Festa’, which will take place from 7 to 10 December at the exhibition centre, with more than 8,000 athletes competing and over 20,000 people in total, including support staff, judges and families. For the city, this festival is also an opportunity to stage a programme packed with entertainment and events, attracting numerous curious visitors and enthusiasts. The national conference of Animators of the Renewal in the Holy Spirit will be held from 8 to 10 December at the Palacongressi, with over 4,000 participants expected.
The events for the Immaculate Conception weekend begin with two concerts by Laura Pausini at the Palazzo dello Sport (Stadium Rimini) on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 December, marking the start of her World Tour to celebrate 30 years in the business. Other musical events will take place over the weekend, including a performance by pianist Nicolò Ferdinando Cafaro, winner of the 2022 Venice Prize, who will perform at the Teatro Galli on Sunday 10 December, whilst the Church of Sant’Agostino will host the ‘Christmas Concert for the City of Rimini’ on Friday 8 December. The week is packed with events, including the Christmas Village with its ice rink, the markets and the circus putting on shows for children and adults in the Rimini harbour area, as well as guided tours dedicated to Fellini and art in the churches, in particular the depictions of the Virgin Mary organised by Discover Rimini on Friday 8 December.
