The Oltremare theme park has been situated on the hill in Riccione since 2004 and covers an area of 110,000 square metres, most of which is covered in greenery.
The park is a technologically cutting-edge facility that is perfectly in harmony with its surroundings, and is easily accessible in terms of its location, road network and car park.
The park is divided into different areas, each of which is dedicated to a specific theme: Adventure Island – a large area dedicated entirely to young children.
Time travel – this section illustrates the various stages that led to the emergence of the first forms of life in the seas, on land and in the sky.
In this regard, the area is divided into:
Planet Earth – from the Big Bang to the extinction of the dinosaurs and Darwin, the land forgotten by time.
From the oceans to the Adriatic Sea – this complex offers a comprehensive display of the marine environment, featuring all its most important forms of life; Pianeta Mare is an area dedicated to dolphins, whales and sharks, meticulously reproduced in resin, fibreglass and polyurethane.
At the Dolphin Lagoon, you can enjoy a magnificent show in which the dolphins take centre stage
All-time greats: Pelé, Candy, Micha, Tabo, Golia, Cleo, Blue, Achille and Ulisse – Italy’s most famous ‘curious’ dolphin and the park’s mascot – enjoy performing acrobatics, somersaults, underwater races and playing pranks on the unsuspecting spectators in the front rows.
Since 2005, a new friend has joined the group:
Mary G., a Grampo puppy rescued from the port of Ancona.
Hippocampus is the world’s largest exhibition of seahorses.
The Delta and Surroundings – comprising Il Delta, La Fattoria and Il Mulino del Gufo; Il Delta meticulously recreates the environment surrounding the Po Delta, covering an area of over 15,000 square metres capable of accommodating geese, ducks, herons and storks; The Farm features scenes and little skits starring dogs, goats, magpies, polecats and mice.
Imax – a large screen in both 2D and 3D that puts you in the front row to watch scenes set in the marine world or on land.
Following a dirt track, you can admire the Kingdom of the Bees, the Garden of Fragrances,
The Owl Mill, 4 Vultures, the Turtle Hospital and The Flight of the Birds of Prey, where expert falconers demonstrate flight techniques in complete safety, with the falcon Lola and her friends taking centre stage.
The park is home to animals born on the premises or brought in from elsewhere, and works to protect endangered species in collaboration with charitable organisations; Aquafan and the Riccione Dolphinarium were involved in its development.
Oltremare also offers a wide range of workshops designed to raise awareness amongst schools about the evolution of species, mutations, environmental issues and the various solutions available.
