The Floating Maritime Museum (for enquiries: 0547 672457), situated in the oldest part of Cesenatico’s canal harbour, where visitors can admire various examples of historic boats salvaged from the upper and middle Adriatic. It is a genuine floating museum, established in 1983, and consists of two sections: the Land section and the Sea section.
The ‘Land’ section is a fully-fledged shipyard offering carpentry services and houses vessels and nautical equipment collected over almost 10 centuries. The ‘Sea’ section is a floating exhibition and is situated directly in front of the ‘Land’ section, allowing visitors to admire both ancient and modern vessels that are in perfect working order.
One of the most beautiful vessels is undoubtedly the ‘bragozzo’ – a two-masted fishing boat with a curved hull and a high, bulging bow; the two masts are fitted with topsails and a jib pole carrying one or two jibs. It is very picturesque thanks to its colourful decorations and reddish sails. Porto Canale – Via Carlo Armellini, 18, 47042 Cesenatico, tel. 0547 672457 ?
