Every year in Rimini attracts a large proportion of conference tourism which has led, particularly over the last two years, to such significant growth that additional space has been required.

The Region, in collaboration with the Convention Bureau (a company that organises conference events), is currently building a new conference centre.

Why Rimini?: obviously, this is due to the presence of around 2,300 four- and five-star hotels, which are therefore equipped with every comfort, and which have established its pre-eminence in the global hospitality sector.

All this is complemented by 20 cinemas and theatres, 30 museums and collections, and lots of leisure facilities, such as the theme parks of the Riviera Romagnola and the 32 nightclubs.

Above all, this complex will feature a conference centre that is unique in Europe, capable of accommodating 10,000 participants and 6,000 attendees.

The new conference centre It will also be even more ‘convenient’ to get to from anywhere, thanks to the the “Federico Fellini” International Airport in Rimini“.

For the creation of the New Conference Centre, work began in 2007 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2009.

Put your trust in one of the world’s leading architectural firms, the architect Wolkwin Marg, the complex will consist of two two-storey buildings, connected by a foyer, and will occupy an area of approximately 38,000 square metres in Rimini’s old exhibition centre; the current Palacongressi will be converted into a Music Auditorium.

The two buildings of the Nuovo Palacongressi will have a floor area of approximately 30,000 square metres. The first building, which houses the main entrance, has a ground floor facing the sea – a completely self-contained level; the first floor is home to the Conchiglia Amphitheatre.

The second building features the main hall and a further eight separate rooms on the ground floor; on the first floor there are six breakout rooms, twelve meeting rooms, offices and catering facilities. In total, there are 42 rooms, 9,500 seats and exhibition areas covering approximately 4,000 square metres.

The New conference centre to feature underground car parks for around 1,000 parking spaces and a terminal for around 10 buses.
