Santarcangelo returns to the Middle Ages: the travelling tour ‘Uomini et donne d’arme’ brings June evenings to life

For four evenings in June, one of Romagna’s most charming villages gives way to the charm of the Middle Ages.

Every Wednesday evening, Santarcangelo di Romagna It is transformed into an open-air theatre with the travelling medieval tour “Men and Women of Arms”, an experience that combines a guided tour, a performance, a historical re-enactment and an exploration of the local area.

The event is scheduled for 3, 10, 17 and 24 June 2026. For around two hours, participants are taken on a tour through narrow streets, squares and underground caves, guided by more than 30 actors, musicians and extras in costume.

A village that perfectly captures the spirit of the Middle Ages

Santarcangelo di Romagna is one of those places that seem to have been made to preserve stories.
