For all olive oil enthusiasts and for all local and national olive oil producers, the event ‘L’olio novello in tavola a Montegridolfo’ has been a key fixture for all industry professionals and enthusiasts for over 15 years.
Now in its sixteenth year, the event has become a fully-fledged competition within the Emilia-Romagna region, in which all producers of extra virgin olive oil take part; the winner is awarded the ‘Premio Novello di Romagna’ prize.
Montegridolfo, a charming little village nestled in the hills around Rimini and reminiscent of a medieval hamlet, makes the village itself available for the event.
The narrow streets of Montegridolfo are transformed into a huge market, filled with the aromas and flavours wafting from the stalls lining the narrow lanes.
Alongside the New Olive Oil Festival, Montegridolfo will host exhibitions and events, and restaurants will be serving menus in which the flavour of the new olive oil takes centre stage.
In the charming village of Verucchio, we’ll be discovering a product that is a true gem of the Romagna region – a real treasure for our tables: olive oil.
‘L’Oro della Valmarecchia’, organised by the Associazione Pro Loco Verucchio, under the patronage of Verucchio Town Council and in collaboration with the Comunita Montana “Valla del Marecchia” and the A.R.P.O. Olive Growers’ Association, will make its debut this year on the Rimini events scene, already showing signs of success.
Throughout the streets of the village, there will be tastings, samples, explanations and in-depth insights and analyses of this wonderful product from local producers and millers, as well as artisans, stalls and market stands.
